When a man forgets to be a man, brutalities such as racial persecution, deportation of Jews, concentration camps occur. We must remember these atrocities, even if they cause us pain.
To remember means to be aware of the cruelty that a man has been capable of and prevent such inhumanity from recurring, perhaps in other more subtle but no less dangerous forms.
From January 26th to February 1st we commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day through the words of those who survived those atrocities, of writers and witnesses who will help us shed light on what happened and ensure we never forget.
