The functions of BAS

Bas is a book vending machine where you can borrow and return books in a easy and quick way. It’s located in via Sant’Alberto 163, at Laboratori Sartori.

You can find a book selection of course unit textbooks for the courses  Environmental Sciences, Marine Biology and Science and Technologies for Environmental Sustainability (Degree Programme in Ravenna Campus).

Who can use the BAS

Who can use it

All the institutional users of the University of Bologna that are enrolled at an Unibo library and that have the 
Unibo badge.

How to enroll at an Unibo library

You can register at Palazzo Corradini Library with your identity card and the Unibo badge, or in via Sant'Alberto in these specific days: 30 october 2025

How to borrow and return books?

To borrow a book:

  • select "Prestito" 
  • search for the book title through the search bar at the top or scroll the list
  • select the book
  • swipe your badge and pick up the book from the pick-up box

To return a book:

  • select "Restituzione"
  • Place the back of the book closer to the RFID reader (like the picture)
  • When the pick-up box is open insert the book
