This year is the 77th anniversary of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, but the world is still plagued by inequalities and injustices due to wars, economic and political interests.

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights: if there is no respect for these rights, there can be no peace.

We must commit to defend our rights from those who attempt to deny or ignore them: this is more important than anything, more important than man himself.

From 10 to 23 of December we celebrate the Human Rights Day: many reading suggestions are waiting for you in the Library, to learn how to protect the rights of all of us.
